Privacy Policy

Wordsworth Construction Management Ltd (“the Company”) is committed to protecting and maintaining your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect from you via our website lawfully and in the ways that are described here, in accordance with our obligations and your rights under the law, including that required by the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

If you do not agree with any aspect of this policy, you should not use our website.

What information do we collect?

We may collect information about you from your completion of our enquiry form on our “Contact Us” page, or from any email you send to us or any members of our team, or by contacting us by telephone or by post.  This may include your name, postal address, email address and contact telephone numbers, the nature of your enquiry and any other information you choose to share with us.  We may, in further dealings with you, extend this information to include services used, specifications, tender documentation, employment details, records of conversations, agreements and financial transactions.

Why does the company process personal data?

Our use of your personal data will always have a lawful basis, either to carry out our obligations arising from any contracts entered into between you and us; where you have consented to the use of your personal data, by using our enquiry form or by contacting a member of the team using the email links provided, or by telephone or post and to which you would reasonably expect to receive a response from us; where it is in our legitimate interests to facilitate your interest in our company and sometimes we must process your information in order to comply with a statutory legal obligation. 

Specifically, we may use your data for the following purposes:

  • Replying to your enquiry via email, telephone or post.

  • To send you information you have specifically requested.

  • To facilitate any interest in a career or job opportunity with Wordsworth Management Ltd.

  • Forwarding your enquiry to the relevant person within the company to provide you with a response.

  • Analysing the use of our website to enable us to improve it and your experience as a user and as part of our efforts to keep our website safe and secure.

Only after asking for your explicit consent, may we use your data for marketing purposes, which may include contacting you by telephone or email to provide you with information regarding our services and news about the company.  You can withdraw your consent at any time and ask us to delete your information.  This can be done by contacting us by email at kathie@wordsworthcs.co.uk and asking to “unsubscribe” from any further marketing.

Social Media Buttons

Our website includes social media buttons with links to our social media pages on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.  Your interactions with these pages are governed by the privacy policy of the social media site hosting the page.

Our website uses selective cookies.  These cookies are used on our website for analytics purposes only.  These cookies are integral to the functioning of our site and if you opt to refuse them, your use of our website will not be impaired. 

Our website uses Google Analytics.  This enables us to collect and analyse anonymous usage information, which helps us to understand how our site is being used and how we might improve it.  Our use of these cookies does not pose any risk to your privacy and we do not collect and store personal data using them.

You can choose to enable or disable cookies on your internet browser.  By default, most internet browsers accept cookies.

Client and Employee Testimonials and/or Photographs

We may post client or employee testimonials on our website, which may contain personal information, sometimes including a photograph.  This would only be done with the client or employee’s explicit consent prior to posting on the website.  If you wish to update or have your testimonial and/or photograph removed from the website, please contact Kathie Wordsworth, Director via email at kathie@wordsworthcs.co.uk .

Who has access to data?

Your information will be shared internally within the company in order to respond to your enquiry and with those people, if access to the data is necessary for performance of their roles.  This will also include staff with the responsibility for IT and the maintenance of our website, some of these may be external to the company.

If you are a potential job applicant, the company may share your data with our HR Consultant (who is a third party) who processes data on our behalf in relation to HR support and advice and recruitment for the company. 

The company will not transfer or sell your data to other third parties.

The company will not transfer your data outside the European Economic Area (EEA).

How does the company protect data?

The company takes the security of your data seriously.  The company has internal policies and controls in place to ensure that your data is not lost, accidentally destroyed, misused or disclosed, and it is not accessed by people who are unauthorised to do so.

We review these measures regularly to make sure they remain appropriate.  Unfortunately, the transmission of data via the internet is not completely secure.  We cannot guarantee the security of any third-party application you may use to transmit your data (for example, internet browsers).

We use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificates to verify our identity to your browser and to encrypt any data you give us.  Whenever information is transferred between us, you can check that it is done using SSL by looking for a closed padlock symbol or other trust mark in your browsers URL bar or toolbar.

Where the company engages third parties to process personal data on its behalf, they do so on the basis of clear and specific instructions, are under a duty of confidentiality and are obliged to implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to ensure the security of the data.

For how long does the company keep data?

We will keep your personal data for at least as long as we have a relationship with you.  When deciding how long to keep your personal data after our relationship with you has ended, we take into account our legal, regulatory and professional obligations.

Your rights

As a data subject, you have a number of rights.  You can:

  • Access and obtain a copy of your data on request.

  • Require the company to change incorrect or incomplete data.

  • Require the company to delete or stop processing your data, for example, where the data is no longer necessary for the purposes of processing.

  • Object to the processing of your data where the company is relying on its legitimate interests as the legal ground for processing.

  • Ask us to transfer your data to another organisation, known as data portability (this right can only be exercised under particular circumstances).

  • Ask the company to stop processing data for a period if data is inaccurate or there is a dispute about whether or not your interests override the company’s legitimate grounds for processing data.

What if you do not provide personal data?

You are under no statutory or contractual obligation to provide us with your personal information, however, if you do not provide us with basic information, such as your name and contact details we may not be able to deal with you as a client, supplier or job applicant in an efficient and effective manner.

Changes to our privacy policy

Our privacy policy is reviewed regularly and at least annually and we reserve the right to make any changes to it.  The latest version of the policy will be displayed on our website.  This version was last updated on 8 August 2024.
