The Wordsworth team went on a road (train) trip to the Allianz Stadium to cheer on England in their resounding 59 - 14 victory against Japan - I think our presence brought England the luck they needed to claw back a victory after the previous run of defeats.
We were hosted within one of the corporate boxes and feasted upon food with a nod to the visiting team and enjoyed drinks aplenty.
Everyone had a fantastic time, despite some of the Wordsworth team not having a clue what was happening on the pitch!
WCM joined We are Wakefield (WAW) in October 2024.
We are Wakefield is a not-for-profit organisation run for the benefit of its members and provides opportunities for businesses to connect with other local businesses and organisations from a wide variety of sectors within the Wakefield area. A networking event is held on the first Friday of each month at a different venue and with different key speakers.
We have already found it to be a great way to connect with other businesses in the area.

Phil has been working with us for a few months in a freelance capacity but joined us permanently in 2021.
“Phil and I have a working relationship that goes back 20 years”, Shaun Wordsworth said “it’s so rewarding to renew old working relationships. Just goes to show how talented people thrive in any circumstances, and Covid has been a challenge for us all.”
Phil has already brought some of his wider client relationships into the business, but has also allowed us to carry out commissions for other clients with his breadth of expertise.
We look forward to delivering pre-construction services to our contractor and end user clients and to delivering more schemes under Construction Management in 2021 as we exit nationwide restrictions.

Northampton General Hospital and University Hospital Lewisham - Volumetric Expansion
Wordsworth Construction Management are delighted to have finished 3 high pressure projects over the winter period.
Before Christmas we completed our commission to Construction Manage the installation of 5000sqft of new volumetric accommodation to extend the A&E department at Northampton General Hospital and 1200sqft of new Paediatric department extension at University Hospital Lewisham. We were also commissioned to cost plan and procure trades packages for new £20m ITU at Northampton, which commenced on site in January.
When the schemes were first conceived, it is unlikely that any of us expected Covid to take hold as it did. The new treatment space was much need by both Trusts before the pandemic’s re-emergence and is in even more demand currently.
